The timeline below serves as a suggested guide for group organization and student deliverables over a 13 semester period. The documents provided in this timeline are currently being used in Psych 2NF3: Basic & Clinical Neuroscience (Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour, McMaster University)
Students must use this matrix on a weekly basis. Peer mentors should take a quick glance at the matrix each week.
Activity: Groups should collectively brainstorm and create a list of goals that could be achieved through this project. Ask students to select one-three goal(s) out of this list and use the SMART method to further expand upon them.
This will be their first reflection on the Learning Portfolio. A second (different) reflection will be due near end of term. Although the goal-setting worksheet is a great model to begin describing goals in point-format, it is highly encouraged that students write their reflection in paragraph format.
